<p>Todo: Establish the dates by which the various stages need to be completed, esp. exactly when things need to be submitted to the state. </p> <p>(Check you still have an accountant. Review prior communication with the accountant, or for the first year get her to explain what is needed.) </p> <p>Check the company cash book (log of transactions) is completed up to the end of the financial year: it will state the balance at start and end of period; it will list all income received and all payments made, each transaction with a date and a description; it will be reconciled with the company bank account statements. </p> <p>Check the PAYE payments book is completed up to the end of the financial year: with breakdown of income tax, employee and employer National Insurance; with breakdown per quarter; with any adjustments. </p> <p>Generate copies of bank statements covering the financial year. </p> <p>Generate copies of all invoices raised during the financial year. </p> <p>Establish list of debtors at end of financial year. </p> <p>Establish list of creditors at end of financial year. </p> <p>Establish gross salaries for each employee. </p> <p>Establish expenses paid for each director. </p> <p>Establish whether the P35 was completed to say that P11d would follow. </p> <p>Send email to accountant with cash book, PAYE summary, debtors, creditors, gross salaries, expenses, and P11d statement. </p> <p>Send package to accountant with copies of bank statements and invoices. </p> <p>Wait for accountant to respond with proofs. </p> <p>Receive and discuss proofs with accountant. Iterate if necessary. </p> <p>When happy, sign and return financial return proofs. </p> <p>Wait for accountant to respond with financial report, and invoice for accounting services. </p> <p>Sign and return financial report. </p> <p>Distribute copies of financial report to directors. </p> <p>Settle accountant's invoice. </p> <p>Have a cup of tea. </p>
